This past January, a new State law was enacted that softened restrictions on accessory dwelling units (ADU's) throughout California. The City is currently working to address new State requirements with a local policy that balances growth with a respect for our community's unique character. We've highlighted some key elements of the City's proposed ADU guidelines below.

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), also called secondary units, in-law units, or cottages, are unitsadded to existing residential buildings.
